Seventh Edition Shines: UDAYA Weekly Launched

The seventh edition of UDAYA Weekly, the school’s much-loved newsletter, was officially released at Udaya Higher Secondary School, Manjeshwar, on September 24, 2025. The release was graced by Principal Mr. Jerald Ivan Crasta and Campus Director Rev. Fr. Santhosh Dsouza, who appreciated the consistent efforts taken to nurture students’ talents in writing, editing, and reporting. Ms. Vijaya M also joined the occasion, extending her best wishes to the budding journalists. Members of the student editorial board were present, marking yet another milestone in their journey of learning, creativity, and teamwork. The UDAYA Weekly continues to provide a platform for students to showcase their ideas, perspectives, and literary skills. The Principal, in his address, encouraged students to keep developing their creative abilities, while the Campus Director highlighted the importance of responsible communication and the power of the written word.

Strength, Spirit, and Sportsmanship Shine at Udaya’s Sports Day

Udaya Higher Secondary School, Manjeshwar, celebrated its Annual Sports Day on 22nd September 2025 with much energy and excitement at the school ground. The entire campus was filled with the spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and joy as students actively participated in various events. The day began with a grand inaugural ceremony, marked by the impressive march past by students representing their houses. The ceremonial lighting of the sports torch symbolized the spirit of unity, discipline, and healthy competition. From Classroom to Nursery: Practical Lessons in Horticulture

The Upper Primary students of Udaya Higher Secondary School, Manjeshwar recently visited the Kerala Agricultural University Extension Training Center, Manjeshwar, as part of their field trip program. The visit was organized under the Government of Kerala’s State Horticulture Mission Project – “Establishment of Small-Scale Nursery for Horticulture Crops.” Students were introduced to the importance of nurseries in promoting sustainable agriculture and enhancing the availability of quality planting materials. During the trip, the young learners had the opportunity to see firsthand how nurseries are developed and maintained. They gained practical knowledge about the propagation of horticultural crops, modern techniques in nursery management, and the role of agriculture in ensuring food security. Padma Shri Awardee Harekala Hajabba Inspires Students on Teachers’ Day

The school celebrated Teachers’ Day with great joy and gratitude on Friday, 12th September 2025, under the leadership of the Student Council. The day began with a series of morning games for teachers, creatively organized by the Student Council, which brought smiles and laughter, setting a lively tone for the celebrations. The formal programme commenced at 2:00 pm in the school auditorium. The highlight of the event was the presence of the Chief Guest, Sri Harekala Hajabba, a Padma Shri awardee (2020), popularly known as the “Orange Seller” who, despite being uneducated himself, worked tirelessly to build a school in his village to ensure that others had the opportunity to study.
