Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore Diocese, Inspiring Visit Lights Up Udaya Higher Secondary School
Udaya Higher Secondary School, Manjeshwar, had the honour of welcoming Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of the Diocese of Mangalore and President of the Catholic Board of Education, on Tuesday, 2 December 2025. The Bishop’s informal visit brought great joy and inspiration to the students, staff, and management.
During his interaction with the students, the Bishop delivered a meaningful and motivating message. He encouraged the young learners to live by the principle “Be good, do good.” Emphasizing the importance of moral values, he said that the virtues cultivated in school will guide students throughout their life. “The values you learn here will be helpful in the future. The school is shaping your future. Wherever you work—be it in companies or the corporate world—these values will help you succeed,” he noted.
The programme was graced by Rev. Fr Santhosh Dsouza, Campus Director, and Mr Jerald Ivan Crasta, Principal, who warmly welcomed the Bishop and expressed their gratitude for his encouraging words.
The event was well coordinated with Mrs Irene, English teacher, serving as the Master of Ceremonies (MC). The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr Santhosh Kumar, Kannada teacher, who expressed appreciation to the Bishop for his valuable time and guidance.
The Bishop’s visit left a lasting impression on the school community, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to holistic education anchored in strong moral and spiritual values.
